Lost 90 lbs. in 7 months by learning about portion control

When I first came to Petteruti Bariatrics I didn't like the way I looked. Shopping for clothing was depressing, and my energy was gone by 1:30 in the afternoon.
I was excited for my first visit because I knew it was finally time for me to do something for myself. However, never in a million years would I have imagined losing 90lbs in just 7months! I had tried other programs, and nothing worked. I would lose a little, get stuck, and gain it back. It was always so frustrating.
They offer group or individual visits. I chose to do the individual visits because I wanted every minute of this time for myself! This was my time!!
It was different at Petteruti Bariatric Medicine. On my first day Cathy told me I would need to eat 3 meals a day. It was difficult to do that at first, it went against everything I thought I knew. However, I came here to learn, so I did it and it worked. That was an important lesson! I have to fix the nighttime snacking by starting with breakfast in the morning! I had been skipping meals during the day than snacking and eating dinner.
The most important tool I will take away from this program is what they teach about protein and energy. Imagine, one ounce of nuts fills me and give me energy in the afternoon. My friends think I'm crazy, but it does, and I look forward to them.
Last year I was on the sidelines. I couldn't play soccer with my kids or run around with them in the yard. Well this is a whole new year! Not only do I run laps with them at practice, I became one of the coaches!!
It's exciting to go shopping now; my husband even encourages me to go! I like the way I look and I’m happy. It can be a little overwhelming adjusting to all the complements, but what a nice problem to have!
In 7 months I have lost 90 pounds and dropped from a size 24 to a size 10 and.
I have continued to lose a few more pounds since completing the active weight loss program. Currently, I am participating in the maintenance program and plan to do so for the next few years. I wouldn't have it any other way. Who knows, maybe I’ll go for another 10 pounds.
