Cathy Davide, LPN Bariatric Counselor

Cathy first began her career in bariatric medicine in 1978, when she was introduced to Dr. Dale Alexander, founder of Shaklee Vitamins. A graduate of CCRI, she has over twenty years of experience in the nursing field, working in both surgical and critical care medicine. Cathy joined Petteruti Bariatric Medicine three years ago, after serving as the Primary Care Nurse of Petteruti Family Practice. Since then she has continued to hone her expertise in bariatric medicine through post-graduate training at the Harvard Medical School Conference for the Treatment of Obesity. Cathy specializes in nutritional counseling, a skill that was put to good use while raising her three children and supporting her husband’s professional marathon racing career. Cathy finds that her current position within Petteruti Bariatric Medicine has been one of the most rewarding of her career.
Marsha Brindamour, Site Director

Marsha has worked with Dr. Petteruti since 2002, first as the Office Manager of Petteruti Family Practice and now for Petteruti Bariatric Medicine. Marsha was inspired to join Petteruti Bariatric Medicine when she saw the life-changing transformations that take place in clients who achieve sustained weight-loss. Marsha attended Bryant College and is currently studying for her Masters Degree in Psychology at the University of Rhode Island. Though she is famous for wearing so many different hats around the office, Marsha also somehow manages to find the time to sailing and play volleyball with her two children.
Dr. Stephen Petteruti, DO Medical Director

Dr. Petteruti received his bachelors degree from Tufts University before attending medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing his residency at Martin Army Hospital in Ft. Benning Georgia, Dr. Petteruti served as a doctor in the Army at Ft. Belvoir seven years. He retired from the Army in 1994 with a rank of Major and moved with his family to Rhode Island where he opened Petteruti Family Practice.
Dr. Petteruti founded Petteruti Bariatric Medicine in 2002 after he recognized the growing number of patients in his practice who had difficulty battling weight gain. His revolutionary weight-loss treatment techniques, that see life-changing results achieved often without the use of surgery, has gained him national recognition in the bariatric field. He has spoken at numerous panels and conferences, served as an Associate Clinical Professor at Brown University, has received advanced certification from Harvard University in the field of Bariatrics, and currently serves as the Rhode Island Diplomate to the American Board of Bariatric Medicine. Dr. Petteruti is also a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians.
In his spare time Dr. Petteruti enjoys coaching his sons’ youth lacrosse and soccer teams. He is also an avid Red Sox fan and has built a replica wiffleball field of Fenway Park in his back yard, much to his wife’s chagrin.
